2 New Projects Begin

In October 2014 I found an ad for 2 Zeitler Formula Vee's for sale in Pennsylvania. They both had some frame damage and only the frames and bodies were for sale. I just could not see them being used for parts or even sent to the scrapper so I bought them. They were delivered to my home a week later and now they are awaiting a full restoration to original for one and a fun autocross car for the other. Both cars came with SCCA Logbooks that go back 30 years. They both were raced on the great tracks including Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, Pocono, VIR and others. Many thanks to Bill Connery for keeping these cars for me. I will start on them this winter.

This is what they looked like when they were last raced. All of these photos are the same 2 cars with different owners thru the years.

The last week in December, both frames were taken to Fred Clark, the world famous Formula Vee builder in Jacksonville Florida. He will straighten, renew and true the frames so they are race-ready again. Fred is a master builder and builds the Caracal and Lynx Formula Vee's. There is no one I trust more than Fred to fix my frames. His website is www.caracalcars.com.

I also bought a motor for the Vintage car and a transaxle for the autocross car.

Fred Clark finished the repairs to the Yellow frame and he did a fantastic job. The white frame is going to take more work but it will get done. Now the work begins on the yellow frame Zeitler. The photo above is before Fred's repair. Photo below is after. Great job Fred! Thanks.
